Tips To Protect Yourself and Your Car

Don't just leave your car title in th vehicle. If a car thief is pulled over, he could still get away from the police using the papers. If multiple drivers use the car, consider hiding the title in a secret location in the car that only the owners know.

Be cautious at night, and park in a well-lit area, as much as possible.

Have your car's vehicle identification number (VIN) etched on each of the windows. This way, thieves don't want to go to the expense of replacing the glass, and in some states, you could get a discount on your auto insurance.

Don't leave any personal items that can be enticing to a curious thief. Even an empty shopping bag can attract attention for a thief to break in.

if confronted by a car jacker, don't resist. Cars can be replaced; you can't!
