The AACA Museum (Antique Automobile Club of America Museum)

Trip Date: December 10, 2011

Part of our Hershey Christmas tour last year was a visit to AACA museum, located in Museum Drive, Hershey, PA.

This would actually be the most ideal tour for those who love cars, motorcycles or any type of vehicles. You would surely be able to discover and enjoy your journey as you visit the highly detailed dioramas presenting original and restored vintage vehicles in elaborate scenes that bring the history of the automobile to life.

The museum houses the largest collection of historic buses under roof in the US and an ever changing variety of vehicles that are too interesting or unique to be kept in collection storage.

What more could be a better place for a car club trip other than the AACA Museum! Here would be an experience to enjoy a world class automotive showcases like vintage cars, buses, motorcycles and more. All featured exhibits are being changed several times in a year, so that there is always a good reason to come back for something new to see!

New opportunity to experience in the museum are "Behind the Scenes Tours" where clubs or groups can visit one of the museum's storage facilities located at the back of the museum and view vehicles that are not currently on public display. Of course, a certain additional fee will be added for guests of 20 or more in addition to the regular museum admission.

It's also interesting to know that the museum allows private evening receptions and events such as receptions, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and other ceremonies - considered to be one of Pennsylvania's most unique venue for holding special events and receptions.

Trip To Hershey & Visit To The Hershey Story Museum

Sept. 18, 2011

It was pouring hard when we left home! We left like 10:30am since it was a 2-hour drive going to Hershey. When we reached our hotel (Simmons Inn & Suites), it was dry but cloudy. Truly, the place was just close to most of the attractions, such as the Hershey Park, The Hershey Story Museum, Zoo America, and a half mile drive going to the Hershey Outlets!

We arrived like around past noon, checked ourselves in the hotel, then went to the Hershey Museum. The museum will be all about the history of the Hershey family, including Milton Hershey who made Hershey chocolates popular! Of course, obviously, he was the legend behind the tasty chocolate bars that are still a top favorite by many kids and adults alike!
You would be knowing a lot about the history of the Hersheys and how the popular Hershey chocolates became famous worldwide.
The whole museum is on the second floor, so after we were done with discovering all the facts, we went down and went to Cafe' Zooka, and had chocolate tasting. By the way, this is not for free, lol! You have to buy it with a certain price then you will be tasting 6 types of chocolates. Hubby loves chocolates! He didn't want to miss the chocolate tasting and so we did! I didn't like most of them except for Java that had the least amount of cacao in it.
Anyway, that was fun for hubby. He can eat however the taste is as long as it's a chocolate, lol! Most of the chocolates are made of 75% cacao and are thick and bitter! That is how pure chocolates are made.

It was around 4pm and we decided to get a late lunch, early dinner at The Devon Grill Restaurant, just across the museum's parking lot. This seems to be an upscale restaurant, but the food is great! It's worth the money! ;).
We then proceeded to the Hershey Outlets and had some shopping since it was way too early for the day. I got some stuff as usual. We tried to search for hubby's dress shirt sizes, but we couldn't find his size :(.

We went back to our hotel at around 6pm. It was tiring after we got settled on bed, so we slept like a log, I guess! ;)

Hershey's Great American Chocolate Tour (Pat 2)

This is a free tour where you will be sitting on a moving mini train and witness how chocolates are being made through a simulated Hershey's Chocolate factory. Be prepared to get hungry as you'll see, feel and hear the delicious transformation from a chocolate bean to milk chocolates. It's fun and informative.
After the tour, you'll be given FREE hershey candy samples! {drools} :)).

Here's a slide show of our tour inside the simulated chocolate factory.

If you love shopping then, you can go drop by Hershey's Marketplace Shops. Mostly, things there are of hershey's brand confectionaries, candies, fudge, and cookies.

If you get hungry, food court are just around so close inside the park. We love many foods there...and of course, "sweets are always everywhere :).

Have fun!

Hershey's Chocolate World Tour (Part 1)

6-8-08
If you think you can only have fun buying and eating chocolates, (particularly Hershey's) - you're wrong! You can have more fun with a lot of "sweets" in the air, with a lot of things to see and hear about Hershey's chocolates.
If you love chocolates (my hubby does), then go visit Hershey's Chocolate World, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Hershey's Chocolate World is the official corporate visitor's center of the Hershey Company.
If you live further away, you need to start your trip earlier in the day. We are an hour and 48 minutes away, so we left earlier :). There is a parking fee for a certain number of hours. Less than 2 hours is FREE, and if you had more than that, payment will be charged as you take your exit from the park.

Watch the Big 3D Show. it's stunning! If you have kids, they will love it. This is an animated 3-D musical adventure as Hershey's product characters virtually jump off the big screen and come to life. Surprising in-theater effects are always added. We love the chocolate aroma in the air. Who knows? You'll also be catching some real chocolates too ;).

Hershey Trolley Works is totally entertaining! You will get the chance to ride on an old fashioned trolley car as you go around the Hershey community. It's all about the inspirational legacy of Mr. Hershey that will be unfolded through a unique entertainment experience. Do you love to sing? Well, you will be singing with your tour guide(s) as well. Fun!
